MBARS: Morecambe Bay Amateur Radio Society

A Demonstration of Packet Radio

M3PUX Tony volunteered to do a demonstration and roped M0ZIF (Martin) into assisting. Tony built a interface for hooking his Yaesu FT819ND up his linux netbook. The interface is part of Intermediate studies. Tony did a little demo of the inerface, and explained what the parts did, then connected the FT to the computer. then demonstrated how easy psk32 is to do manually without all the macros that most people are used to using.

Whilst Tony had this up and running Martin had a TS480 also running packet but on Ham Radio Deluxe to show windows doing exactly the same job.

Thank you very much for this demo Tony, and if there is anything that you would like to add here please contact Martin M0ZIF

Appologies to Tony for getting his callsign incorrect the first time, its M3PUX not M3PUC again sorry. (MH)
